National Nutrition Month was created 50 years ago in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Every March, people are invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthy eating and physical activity habits. This year's theme is “Fuel for the Future”. Eating with sustainability and nourishment in mind can you build healthy habits that are positive for the environment. Here are some ways to get started:
At Home: Practice mindful eating by limiting screen time such as phones, computers, TV, and other electronic devices while you eat.
Farmers Market: Go to your local farmers market and talk to the vendors about the food you’re planning to buy.
Workplace: Participate with your peers in the “Healthy Recipe Swap” channel in the Limeade ONE app!
These activities are great with family, friends, and coworkers. Plus you can earn 50 points towards your LIVEwell rewards by completing the “Purchase Locally Produced Foods” activity on Limeade ONE.
