+ General Wellness and Stress Reduction
Wellness is not just a program or resource, it’s a way of life. It’s vital to support your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing at all times, but in particular during a major life change such as bringing a new member into your family. Make self-care and wellness a priority and take advantage of all wellness resources available to you. Civilian employees can visit LIVEwell.la to learn more about wellness support offered to LAwell Program members.
+ Lactation Accommodation
The City of Los Angeles supports employees who continue nursing and/or pumping milk when they return to work. The City of Los Angeles encourages employees and management to have a respectful, positive, and accepting attitude toward this natural process which supports newborn health and bonding.
Lactating parents who return to work have the right to time and a safe and private place to pump milk. These rights are protected by City Policy, California Labor Code§1030, and Federal Law FLSA§7(r).
