Back before the pandemic shut us down, I used to take LIVEwell classes whenever they were offered at Central Library, which wasn't very often. "If only they were offered weekly!" I used to wish. And voila! A bright silver lining during these difficult times has been the online classes offered daily by LIVEwell LA. The variety of classes offered means there is something for everyone, and the fact that they are offered live means that it really feels like participating with a community of happy, sweaty City workers. Kudos to those brave souls who turn on their cameras! I think I've taken every class offered; it feels so good to start off the week with Pilates and Cardio Kickboxing and end with Circuit Training and Functional Fitness, with plenty of Zumba and Tai Chi and Yoga in between.

The challenges on LIVEwell.la are great, too - I'm currently on teams for both the plank and step challenges, which are definitely motivating. And keeping track of activities like "Stand Up and Stretch" and "Stick to a Bedtime Routine" has encouraged me to create healthful habits. Tracking the activities and earning points has been weirdly motivating. Things are strange and stressful, but at least we're staying fit!
